Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai athlete from Peru, and mixed martial artist who is a part of the UFC at the flyweight division,, is currently competing. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai boxer. Her debut was in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority choice. Antonina was able to follow it up, and took home a silver in 2007 a bronze medal in 2008, and then a gold in 2011, and was the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia's professional career started in 2003. She won in 2012 her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship as well as in the year 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she was the winner of the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She took victory by the unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko broke the professional MMA record in 2002 when she fought at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won the second-round TKO fight. She also won the following two bouts in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was the record being 3-0. Shevchenko was forced to take a break from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by a unanimous decision. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's striking skills were superior and let her TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. After this win, Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was offered an UFC contract after winning. Shevchenko suffered defeat to Roxanne modafferi by split decision after she won her first fight. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke submission and earned the prize of the night in the fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in the following three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
